ABOUT THE SHOW

A conversation
with a sense of place.

West Texas Talks

West Texas Talks brings together local news, community stories, and candid conversations with the people who make this region home. Rooted in Lubbock, the show reaches across the South Plains, Panhandle, Permian Basin, and beyond.

From neighbors and local businesses to families, farmers, and public servants, every episode looks closely at the issues shaping our communities and the people building their future.

Mary Hernandez

Born in Cochran County and raised in Floyd County, Mary moved to Lubbock in 1988 and served for 25 years with the Lubbock Police Department. Her life in public service taught her that progress begins by listening carefully and treating every voice as one that matters.

Mary remains committed to the community where she and her husband raised their child and where their grandchildren are now growing up.

Our communities. Our stories. Our voice.
